We didn't know where to begin. We just knew we were moving to the area. The website attracted us first, but even then you never know. But we took a leap of faith and called. The response was swift, and we set up an appointment. Jon asked questions about what we wanted. He engaged deeply in style and personality, and he pointed us to properties he felt we would like. He was willing to fish around and take us fishing at first. We signed on to daily posts from Templeton regarding properties, which really helped. But Jon also had insider info: knowledge of areas and which properties seemed to be honest and some that seemed a bit excessive in their descriptions. He'd even say, "I can show you that one, but I can tell you right now that you're not going to like it." The region is big, and he never flinched at going 45 miles to a site, though I'm sure it was a burden. We're city folks moving to the country, but he helped us navigate newness and different categories of options we hadn't considered. He was able to discuss the market, possibilities of building, and advantages or disadvantages of any area. He was open minded and fun to be around. We gave him a hard time about wearing a suit and tie on hot days. When it came time for offers, he helped us navigate the battleground and was honest about our chances. We felt pushy at times, needing to text or call at strange hours, but Jon put on a brave face and engaged our conversations. (Hopefully we didn't abuse the privilege.) During our inspections and walk throughs, he helped us with the questions we needed to ask, and he showed us several ins and outs to cold living, given that we were moving from the tropics. When we finally closed on the house, he was super handy with recommendations regarding lawyers, painters, insurance salespeople, and so forth. And by the time we reached that point, we had confidence in his choices. No one has let us down yet.
